  • The core winter season program runs September to March. We will have ad hoc social activities in the summer.

  • Monday strength training – 7:45 – 9:00 p.m. (TBC)

    Wednesday fitness (ski striding/trail running and on-snow) – Calgary, 6:30 – 8 p.m.

    Thursday fitness (roller-skiing and on-snow) – Canmore, 6:30 – 8 p.m.

    Saturdays – In the mountains, 10 a.m. to ~1 p.m.

    Technique/training camps – Three weekends throughout the winter, dates TBC

    Social ski meetups – Ad hoc throughout the winter

  • You'll need:

    • Skate and classic skis, boots and poles

    • Heart rate monitor and watch

    • Headlamp for night skiing

    • Basic wax kit including grip and glide waxes, wax iron and scrapers

    Dryland training options:

    • Skate roller-skis, helmet and poles

    • Runners and ski striding poles

    • Road bike

  • We understand that you have a busy life with many commitments. Your membership enables to you select the sessions that interest you the most and work best with your schedule. But remember – the more you participate the more you’ll get out of it!

  • No! While we do have a dedicated group of roller-skiers, we also offer other dryland activities including ski striding, trail running, hiking and biking.

  • A “master” is anyone over 30 who is interested in dedicated cross-country skiing and training. We encourage skiers to be active for life and welcome athletes of all fine vintages.

  • We range far and wide in the Bow Valley corridor. We ski in Confederation Park (Calgary), Canmore Nordic Centre, West Bragg Creek Trails, Lake Louise, Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, Banff and beyond. We travel further for loppets and races.  With so much selection, how do we decide? We try to find the best snow and grooming throughout the winter.

  • We encourage all our athletes to try skiing in at least one event a season – it helps motivate your training and creates great feelings of accomplishment. That said, the decision to participate is always up to you.

  • You should be at least an intermediate-level skier with experience both classic and skate skiing. You should start the season with a reasonable base of fitness and be keen to ski for two to three+ hours.

  • Our core program focuses on fitness and technique improvement for intermediate to advanced adult skiers.

    Private lessons will be available for all levels at an additional cost. More information will come later in the season.
